The accreditation body behind the Pentagon's Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification program has established new processes to speed the authorization of assessment organizations that want to become part of the CMMC ecosystem. Four companies are fully authorized to conduct assessments for the CMMC program. CMMC-AB CEO Matthew Travis said at a "Town Hall" on Tuesday that he expects official assessments to start by the end of the summer, despite delays from the Defense Department. As part of the CMMC-AB's efforts to increase "transparency," Jon Hanny, director of operations at the accreditation body, provided an overview of his organization's approval processes, which have developed and changed since he was hired in November as one of the first members of the CMMC-AB's professional staff.
