Leaks on the high-pressure cooling system supporting the Convertor at the Anglo Converting Process (ACP) poses safety risks and requires plant downtime to repair. The leaks are difficult to detect, as the accuracy of available sensors are insufficient at the operating conditions of the system. Fault detection using digital twins have been employed successfully in the process industry. This paper discusses the construction of digital twins for the leak detection problem at ACP and focuses on the practical considerations of data preparation and modelling. This analytic has been implemented in the control room Human Machine Interface and a web enabled dashboard.
