The weather continues to be a major consideration for safety at sea, despite many improvements in the design of ships, ports and harbours. Safety, of course, is a key factor in the procurement of specialist weather information from The Met. Office. Recent developments in weather forecasting mean that benefits now extend to include better planning of operations, and significant cost-savings for customers.
