Car ferry operators claim a key South Korean terminal is not deep enough, Zeng Xiaolin reports. Tension has grown between the operators and the Incheon Port Authority (IPA) over the depth and capacity that will be available at a new international passenger terminal. Incheon is building the facility as part of its Golden Harbour project. Situated at the Ah-am Logistics Complex 2, the site will also include a convention centre, several hotels, and 10 berths, including two cruise ship berths. Ten companies operate car ferry services from Incheon to Chinese cities including Tianjin, Yantai, Dandong, Weihai, Shidao, Qingdao and Dalian. The operators, which run ro-pax services, also want the container yard of the new terminal to be increased and loading and unloading facilities to be expanded.
