One thing is clear while traversing the serpentine, 7km-long wave barrier and side dyke system of the recently constructed Cat Islands chain in Wisconsin's Green Bay: this is an impressive structure. In October 2014, IHS Maritime toured the barrier with two representatives of the US Army Corps of Engineers' (USACE) Lake Michigan Area Office: Daniel Wiesner, chief of construction at the survey branch, and Duane Talbot, construction representative.
