That was the demand from Brazil-based Millennium Inorganic Chemicals Mineracao (MICM) for repairs to the ladder of its cutter wheel dredger Apoena A custom-built mining vessel bought from IHC Beaver Dredgers in 2002, Apoena had problems with the cutter wheel's hydraulic motor, which had a heavily worn drive - enough to raise the spectre of failure. And because she was MICM's only dredger, Apoena's downtime had to be absolutely minimal, which meant the IHC Life Cycle Support's Parts & Services (IHC P&S) repair team had to work on site.
