  Peter Bennett is an Assistant Professor of Musicology at Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, USA, where he teaches in the Early Music Program. A native of the UK, he took his DPhil at Oxford University (2004) with a dissertation on sacred music at the court of Louis XIII. He also maintains a career as a continuo player, performing with Apollo's Fire in the USA. From 1995 to 2003 he directed Ensemble Dumont, appearing on the Linn Records label. peter.bennett{at}case.edu;
