It was a vintage performance from Masayoshi Son, the 58-year-old founder and chief executive of SoftBank, a Japanese telecoms and technology firm. He was speaking to members of SoftBank Aca-demia, an in-house executive school set up five years ago with the chief purpose of finding his successor. On October 22nd Mr Son riffed at length on how the world will change in the era of the Singularity, when artificial intelligence will exceed the human kind-by around 2055, he reckons.
