Area of activity / On behalf of the German Government, GIZ as the implementing agency for international cooperation has launched a program to promote Good Financial Governance in Zambia. GIZ has been supporting the Zambian Ministry of Finance since 2005, and the current program consists of three components: 1) Strengthening revenue administration capacities, 2) Strengthening national planning and budget preparation processes, and 3) Promoting budget execution and control systems. Within the first component, the project supports the Zambian Revenue Authority (ZRA) especially to a) Enhance institutional and human capacity, b) Develop a priotization strategy for Small and Medium Enterprises, c) Improve tax payer compliance, and to d) Review performance of specific tax types.
