Her iron-ore empire has made her Australia's richest person, with a fortune of nearly A$30 billion ($30 billion). The reclusive Mrs Rinehart has now shaken Australia's media and political worlds by seeking control of Fairfax Media, publisher of two of the country's most influential newspapers: the Sydney Morning Herald and the Age, of Melbourne.
