Judging by their rhetoric, the world's policymakers are indeed thinking about little else. The statement released after the most recent meeting of G20 leaders in Toronto in June mentioned the word "growth" 29 times in nine pages. Mr Obama says his economic policy is all about "laying the foundations for long-term growth".
