Some of this anger has been directed at the regulators. Harvey Pitt, head of the Securities and Exchange Commission, fell on his sword for not making Wall Street honest. Michael Powell's position remains precarious at the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). After the blackout, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission is feeling the heat, if not seeing the light. Yet, almost a year into a job so controversial that it took nearly two years to fill, one regulator is still getting a good reception from all sides of the industries he oversees: Mark Mc-Clellan, head of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
