As businesses around the world assess the impact of last week's terrorist attacks on America, they are dividing the issues into long-term strategic ones and short-term practical ones. In the short term, the main problems concern the movement of goods and of people. With security tightened at ports, airports and land borders, industrial goods are taking longer to reach their destinations. Trucks on the border between Canada and America have had to wait up to 20 hours for a crossing that normally takes minutes.
