Q: We have an old 1993 Astec CDH-3A EDM Drill that, when we turn on the machine without touching any other buttons, the Z moved all the way up to the positive limit and then is stuck there. A: Please check the servo board for evidence of heat around either of the two large transistors. This is the cause of the issue 90% of the time. The customer reported that a heat effected area was found on the servo board, and the transistor needed to be replaced.
