Q: I have a heavy slug to secure and want to create an extra program stop for my Cut2000s to assure the slug doesn't drop prematurely and damage the machine or move the part. How can I add extra stop(s) in the program. A: It's actually quite easy to add extra stop(s) to your program. There is no need to go back to the CAM system and repost or dig into the G-code and try and find where exactly you want to manually insert extra stops. The Cut2000s lets you add one or multiple points to any segment on your contour. Simply select the Point page from the Piece editor screen and select Add. Name the point and select off the graphics of your contour the element where you want to add point(s). Give a percentage distance from the end of the element you selected and a point is created. These points act as a marker that can actually be used for many functions. Select the name of the point you just created from the Events on the working step page and define what you want to happen at that location. It can be a stop and or a technology change or any number of other features.
