Remember the blissful days when it was just you and a couple of other guys running the shop? You all understood the goal, worked hard, liked each other and probably even played together. You overlooked each other's shortcomings because you had a common interest in growing the company. No work rules or policies had to be written. Each of you understood the expectations of the other and the company. You formed what the text books call the "dominant coalition," aka the inner circle.
