The role of quality assessment in students' software development projects is discussed, and techniques for introducing its practice into software engineering instruction are described. The techniques are described in the context of a course at the University of Texas at Austin. The course is summarized together with a series of quality assessment processes implemented in the course project. References to additional source material are provided.
