Powering the People, a forum convened by the Institute for Electric Innovation (IEI) in Washington, DC, on September 24, brought together senior executives, policymakers, and other thought leaders to explore the future of electric transportation. "As electricity generation gets cleaner, electric transportation makes more and more sense," said Lisa Wood, executive director of IEI and EEI vice president of customer solutions. "The electric power sector has reduced its carbon emissions 27 percent below 2005, as of last year. In contrast, carbon emissions from the transportation sector have stayed relatively flat."
