摘要

This article describes the successful implementation of a feed-back linearization technique for the effective control of the power system with a unified power flow controller (UPFC). The complete system is linearized by means of input-output feed-back linearization, and a state feed-back control law is established by pole placement. The overall system performance with the proposed control is compared to that using the conventional proportional and integral (PI) control technique. Results show that the proposed controller is very effective in improving performance in both dynamic and steady-state conditions. Further, it renders total decoupling of real and reactive power flows and, thus, enables independent control of real and reactive powers.
