摘要

Due to high market competence and pressure, the wind power plant (WPP) developers are forced to extend their market territory to distant areas containing long transmission lines and hence weak grid connection of WPP. This paper suggests a steady state analysis method to identify the feasibility of WPP installation in site-specific location based on grid connection characteristics, i.e. short circuit ratio (SCR) and reactance over resistance (XoR), which are normally provided by transmission system operator (TSO). This feasibility study investigates the grid connection and identifies the weak grid conditions, the maximum possible active power transfer to the grid and the reactive power compensation required for stable and reliable connection to the grid under steady state condition.
