From June 4th to June 7th, 2007, researchers active in various fields of power systems electromagnetic transients gathered in Lyon, France, for the 7th International Conference on Power Systems Transients (IPST). Traditionally this conference provides authoritative reviews of the progress and state of research, as well as opportunity for personal contact between the entire community of transients researchers. The printed proceedings of IPST conferences have enjoyed considerable prestige on a worldwide basis. At the Lyon conference over 100 papers covering the wide range of power systems transients, were presented by scientists from numerous countries throughout the world.
