摘要

In order to globally measure soil moisture and ocean salinity, a novel synthetic aperture radiometer has been developed - for the first time also making extensive use of on-board fibre-optic communications in space. After more than four years of design, manufacturing and testing, the fibre-optic harness has been successfully integrated on the SMOS payload.
