The design of Marechal's decon-tactor socket allows separation of a plug and socket with just one finger, thus eliminating the unsatisfactory situation where plugs have to be wiggled and tugged out of their socket. Marechal's spring loaded, silver nickel butt type contacts separate in 15 milliseconds, and they can withstand arcing, resist cold welding, corrosion and vibration. The decontactor is the preferred retro-fit socket where enhanced performance, user safety and visible isolation are demanded.
