Without a doubt, achieving the best possible performance and energy efficiency from a building's services requires effective control. However, it's important to be clear about what constitutes 'effective' control in the context of the envizon-ment where the controls are being used -namely, why the controls are there and who is going to be using them.rnIn this respect, lighting is a useful example. Not least because many buildings that have traditionally used high intensity discharge (HID) lighting, with on/off as the only realistic control option, are s.witching to highly controllable T5 fluorescent lighting in high bay and low bay lighting applications.
