When designing a high voltage industrial network, the system designer has two choices either to have an insulated neutral or earth neutral. Thus we have two different systems in H.T. industrial networks: ⅰ) Insulated Neutral System commonly known as Unearth System or Isolated Neutral System. ⅱ) Earth Neutral System. Insulated Neutral System This system has the advantage of allowing continuity in service and it does not trigger off at the first fault. But then it also requires that the capacitance of the network does not cause an excessive fault current to earth, which could be dangerous for the personnel and the equipment.
