摘要

This paper presents permanent magnet(PM) synchronous motors with four different rotor topologies. The objective of proposing these configurations is to minimize the PM volume and at the same time maximize the developed torque of the motor. The flux, inductances and developed torques of different configurations are compared in order to find advantages and disadvantages of each topology, It is noted that the motor is a four-pole and six teeth PM synchronous motor. Two-dimensional finite elements method is used to simulate the motor and the Matlab software is employed to calculate the total harmonic distortion.
