摘要

In this paper, a single-phase PWM voltage source inverter with only one control loop is employed to control the ac voltage generated from single-phase self-excited induction generator at a precise fixed frequency. The merits of the investigated system are: it needs a fixed capacitance, it does not require the dump load, and it requires only one control loop (voltage control) to obtain a good performance. Detailed theoretical and experimental studies of the characteristics and operation of the single-phase self-excited induction generator are presented. Experimental prototype is carried out based on a 600 VA 1-phase PWM inverter fed from a 1/3 hp single-phase induction machine. The obtained experimental results proved the validity and effectiveness of the technique to be implemented for isolated renewable energy systems in the low power range such as touristic villages and arid zones.
