摘要

Permanent-magnet machines are widely used in broad-rang speeds applications like in electric vehicles. For these purposes the field-weakening control method it's one of the most common ways to achieve the required speed. When a permanent-magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) works under field weakening operation the stator voltage can reach very high values, if a failure occurs in this operation the back-EMF could damage the inverter causing a huge problem in terms of machine operator's security and material damage of the drive. This research work analyses the electric impact of failures that may occur in the switching devices and DC-Link of the drive. For this purpose we simulated the entire system, PMSM plus converter, working under a field-weakening operation.
