摘要

The objective of this paper is to study and implement a solar powered switching voltage regulator based on SEPIC converter which can be employed in several applications such as water pumping systems and battery charging systems in areas exposed to considerable amount of solar irradiance. The output voltage of the solar powered SliPIC converter is well controlled to the desired value using two feedback control loops; an outer voltage control loop is employed to regulate the load voltage, and an inner current control loop to limit the switch current to a safe value. The parameters of both voltage and current PID controllers are off-line determined by particle swarm technique. 'The performance of the switching converter is studied under different operating conditions including input voltage variation, load variation and also for step change in the reference load voltage. Both simulation and experimental results proved the effectiveness of the investigated system to control and regulate the load voltage to the desired value.
