Hosted by the principality of Monaco, the Sixth International Conference and Exhibition on Ecological Vehicles and Renewable Energies -EVER'11, March 31 - April 3, 2011 was a forum of specialists coming from both universities and industries, involved in R.&D projects in the area of ecological vehicles or of renewable energies or of both. They have had the opportunity to share their scientific, technical, business and social experiences with other attendees coming from more than 38 countries, through the presentation and the discussion of their recent works. The final program of EVER'11 included two plenary sessions. Dealing with the design considerations of permanent magnet machines for automotive applications, the fist plenary session has been presented by Professor Nicola Bianchi from the University of Padova, Italy. The second plenary session, aimed at the electric machines and power electronic systems for high-power wind energy generation applications, has been presented by Professor Zi-Qiang Zhu from the University of Sheffield, UK.
