摘要

It is with great sadness that we join the staff and students of the Faculty of Technology, Policy and Management, Technical University of Delft (Technische Universiteit Delft) in the Netherlands in reporting that Prof. Dr. Rene Wagenaar, Professor of Information and Communication Technology, and Head of the Information and Communication Technology Section, Infrastructure Systems and Services Department, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, February 25, 2007, during a short vacation in Switzerland. Rene was a close friend and collaborator of ours also. Until December 2006, he was serving as Co-Editor in Chief of the Electronic Commerce Research and Applications journal. Beyond his many academic accomplishments, his service to the e-commerce and e-government research community, and his work as department head at the Technical University of Delft, Rene will be remembered by all for his kindness, his love of music and above all his dedication to his family.
