The 25- to 30-knot wind blowing hard off the Atlantic Ocean ripped at my exposed fingers. Although the moon was full and clear on this twilight blue evening, the cold-induced clumsiness that curses photographers in this kind of weather crept up my fingers. The windchill was fierce, but conditions were otherwise perfect for this shoot. It was the only chance we had to get the needed image. Because rain was forecast for the next few days, we either finished the assignment tonight or we'd lose at least a full month until another full moon, causing us to miss the assignment deadline. Not to be outdone by the windchill, Murphy's Law decided it would toy with us. My CompactFlash cards were nearly full from the afternoon's location shooting and there had been no opportunity to download images to the workstations back at our base. I was quickly running out of in-camera storage. It was a true chance to test my new Delkin Devices eFilm PicturePAD, a portable image storage solution for backing up my Nikon D-series digital cameras in the field.
