A Novel Algorithm for Dynamic Equivalents of Large Power Systems

摘要

Issues on the establishment of equivalent networks are becoming essential for the deregulated power market. This paper presents a novel algorithm for reducing the order of a large power system based on dynamic coherency approach. By injecting time-dependent voltage-white-noises as disturbance into the subsystem to be reduced, generators in this subsystem are excited independently from type and location of exciting. On transient conditions, coherent generators are identified with an enhanced accuracy by means of the correlation analysis technique. With the help of the simulation program where a non-linear model of the system involved is described and the algorithm proposed is implemented, a dynamic equivalent can be established automatically. This approach performs in the time domain and does not involve any linearization of the system A case study for a real power system is presented in this paper. The result achieved validates the efficiency of the method presented for reducing the order of large power systems.
