摘要

Elevator consultant Robert L. Seymour died on May 17 after a lengthy illness. Founder and principal of a Maryland-based elevator consulting firm, Seymour served as chairman of the ANSI/ASME Al 7 Standards Committee for more than 25 years before stepping down in January 2006. He was a longtime contributor to ELEVATOR WORLD and authored the Field Employees' Elevator Testing Manual and other publications. In addition to his work with the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), Seymour was a member of NAESA International (NAESAI) and the National Fire Protection Association. He was also certified as an elevator inspector by NAESAI, Building Officials and Code Administrators, and Southern Building Code Congress International.
