As part of an effort to tell the industry what the National Association of Elevator Contractors (NAEC) was providing, and would be doing in the future, we began thinking of a trade publication in 1952. Perhaps monthly good tidings would increase the organization's membership beyond less than a score of contractors. It was not an auspicious time to be considering a new venture - the United Nations, with America in the lead, had been involved in a war in Korea since June 1950.
