Local reports suggest that Deutsche Telekom is planning to invest in - or at least partner with - BH Telekom, the largest ofrnBosnia-Herzegovina's three regional incumbent telecoms operators. Any deal would be undertaken by Deutsche Telekom'srnCroatian unit, T-Hrvatski Telekom (T-HT), which already owns a minor 39% stake in HT Mostar. Both state-controlled operatorsrnhave struggled to invest sustainably in advanced networks and services and represent considerable burdens on a debt and loanencumberedrngovernment. Deutsche Telekom has a solid track record in migrating older networks to IP technology and thernincreased investment would allow Bosnia to improve its standing relative to its peers on our regional Risk/Reward Index (RRI).
