As part of a government move to sell off its ownership of a numbernof state-owned enterprises, telecoms incumbent Telekom Slovenijenwill be put up for sale. While Slovenia has long been considered onenof the strongest markets in Central and Eastern Europe, the bankingnsector continues to face problems and a possible bailout. Althoughnwe forecast a weak economic outlook for the next couple of years,nBMI believes that Slovenia has a strong long-term telecoms marketnoutlook and that Telekom Slovenije is an attractive prospect.
