The Polish anti-monopoly regulator, UOKiK, has cleared the acquisitionnof cable operator Aster by Liberty Global-owned UPC Poland.nHowever, the regulator has attached conditions to the merger approvalnto maintain competition and protect consumer interests. BMInwelcomes the merger approval, maintaining our earlier view that,nwith some minor concessions, cross-technology competition would be sufficient to protect consumer interests post-merger.
