摘要

Should product development be an engineering function with a technology team leader or should it be a marketing function with a product management leader? Does product development need a separate project manager and, if so, how are the roles divided? A glance at some recent job adverts shows that both views of life are alive and well, as are attempts to find the elusive 'engineer recently moved into marketing' or 'marketeer with in-depth knowledge of Java and C++'. The purpose of this article is to lay bare some of the issues around this tricky area.
