Railcars Nos. 17 and 18 also had the 6LW engines and a seating capacity of 43. No. 17 was destroyed in 1949 in a fatal head-on collision with a steam hauled goods train soon after leaving Donegal Town station for Ballyshannon. The two post-war railcars Nos. 19 and 20 had flush fronted cabs and reverted to 41 seat passenger saloons. Engines were again Gardner 6LW diesels. After closure their two railcars were sold to the Isle of Man railway where they still are. All the articulated railcars were fitted with vacuum brakes and were capable of hauling two or more 4-wheeled goods vans. The vans were also useful in providing additional brake power.
