Colorado is one of the fastest-growing states in the country and has high ambitions for reducing greenhouse gas emissions. In response to the call for ecologically friendly construction practices, paving contractor Castle Rock Construction Co. and Holcim, the largest cement manufacturer in the United States, collaborated with the Colorado Dept. of Transportation to develop a "green concrete" paving specification. This new solution lowers the carbon footprint of concrete with no compromise in quality or durability.
