The case study was done for a real cogeneration plant producing electricity, process heat and district heat. The case study was calculated on the basis of an existing energy mass balance PC-program and an exergy balance PC-program. The calculations were done of three different cases: 1) constant investment Cost, 2) increased investment cost and 3) increased investment cost and im- Proved turbine design. The increased output rates varied between 42-145 kW And 105-321 kW for electricity and heat . The relative increases of these output Rates were between 0.05-0.18 /100 and 0.09-0.26 /100 for electricity and heat.
