摘要

When process integration (PI) is used for recovery of heat between non- simultaneous batch processes, two alternatives are available. The one is recovering heat by direct heat exchange and rescheduling and the other is recovering of thermal energy stores (TES) and describes a new procedure for adding the required utility to such systems. The new concept has revealed a large potential for improving the driving force distribution in the TES system implying improvements of economics as well.
