摘要

Michigan environmental regulators are claiming they have remedied many of the flaws in the state's response to the lead in drinking water crisis in Flint, MI, and are complying with an EPA Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA) order, but agency Administrator Gina McCarthy is renewing criticisms that the state misled EPA on its response. The competing positions could hint at some of the statements top agency officials and others might make at two House Oversight & Government Reform Committee hearings this week on the crisis. Former EPA Region 5 Administrator Susan Hedman - who resigned over the crisis - and former Flint officials will appear on March 15, while McCarthy and Michigan's Republican Gov. Rick Snyder are set to testify on March 17.
