EPA is including a series of sustainability initiatives in its forthcoming strategic plan for fiscal year 2014, an effort that aims to integrate the new approach into the agency's budget planning and other processes though officials say they are reluctant to fully detail the proposals until after a new administrator is confirmed. When EPA in June releases its draft strategic plan for 2015 through 2020, the document will include a series of "cross-cutting" initiatives intended to incorporate sustainability policies across agency programs. The agency will also issue a second document in conjunction with the plan that will describe how officials aim to incorporate sustainability in agency actions.
