摘要

EPA is likely to require some form of indoor air monitoring system in a forthcoming guidance document on vapor intrusion mitigation-a move that could mean additional costs for parties liable for monitoring and cleaning up volatile chemical plumes, according to industry vapor intrusion experts.rnDiana Marquez, a toxicologist with the engineering firm Burns & McDonnell, told the Risk Management Technologies conference April 8 that, while EPA has not said when it will unveil a long-expected revised guidance document for assessing risks associated with vapor intrusion, the trend within the agency has been a "more and more conservative" approach towards vapor intrusion. Marquez said she expects that whatever guidance is ultimately produced will require either indoor air monitoring or soil gas sampling, or both.
