The Senate environment committee is poised to consider legislation reauthorizing EPA's key clean water and drinking water programs, but the draft bill is still silent on several key policy and funding provisions that could create differences with the House-passed version of the bill, according to a draft version obtained by Inside EPA.rnThe panel is preparing to mark up the water funding bill, as well as legislation addressing the scope of the Clean Water Act.rnThe draft bill seeks to reauthorize EPA drinking water and wastewater funding through the clean water and drinking water state revolving loan funds (SRF). The draft provides $20 billion over live years for the clean water SRF, an amount significantly higher than the $13.8 billion authorized by a recent House bill, H.R. 1262, which was developed by the Transportation & Infrastructure (T&I) Committee.
