The four nuclear plants being built based on Westinghouse Electric Co.'s AP1000 reactor designs will be completed despite the company filing for bankruptcy, an Energy Department official said. "The AP1000 design is a good design and I'm confident that the four plants under construction will be built," Trevor Cook, a nuclear engineer in the Energy Department's Office of Nuclear Energy, said at the April 25 Nuclear Regulatory Commission and Energy Department's joint advanced reactor workshop in Rockville, Md.
