Private investment in public water infrastructure projects may soon be on the rise, in part because of a new government financing program. Investors will be able to take advantage of the lower borrowing costs that a U.S. Treasury-backed loan or loan guarantee and tax-exempt financing allow under the fledgling Water Infrastructure Financing Innovation Act (WIFIA) program, a new Fitch Ratings report finds.
