An environmental group has agreed to dismiss a lawsuit against two Interior Department agencies as well as an administrative appeal of a permit granted by the Environmental Protection Agency for a coal mine in northwest Colorado (WildEarth Guardians v. Bureau of Land Mgmt., D. Colo., No. 14-CV-1452, 3/25/16). WildEarth Guardians dropped its petition for review March 25 of approvals of leasing and mining at the Deserado Mine near Rangely, Colo., by the Bureau of Land Management and the Office of Surface Mining Reclamation and Enforcement, Samantha Ruscavage-Barz, attorney for the environmental group in Santa Fe, told Bloomberg BNA March 28. The group alleged insufficient environmental reviews by the federal agencies.
